Why I write.

I just finished reading The Anti-Boyfriend by Penelope Ward. First thing you should know about me, when I read, I become the character. I feel their pain, their joy and everything in between. That’s what happened during my reading this book. I cannot tell you how many times I have said, “This is my favorite Penelope Ward book.” She just sucks me into her characters and I love the ride. I have always been a poor reader growing up. After I got married, and was out of work for a while, I decided that I wanted to improve my reading skills. I picked up “Stepbrother Dearest” by Ms. Ward. I literally went through a box of tissues. To this day, it’s still one of my favorite stories. I felt Greta’s attraction, her hopelessness, her pain and her love. This was the book that made me decide: I want to write. I wanted to make people feel for my characters and go on a short journey away from the everyday pressures of life. I am nowhere near the writer Ms. Ward is, but I love writing. I love my characters, and I hope you do too.
